Our shearer, Danny Smith, is a third generation shearer and he's absolutely wonderful with the animals. Danny likes to say, "My Dad always said the first 10,000 sheep are the hardest, and after that they start getting a little easier." I feel very fortunate to have him as our shearer and I'm sure the sheep would agree with me! To ensure the future of shearers Danny is now teaching his son the profession.
Blossom's light pewter colored wool is really spectacular. She exhibits the characteristic "badger" face of the CVM breed and her fleece also has some variegation throughout. I love to clean and card her wool and see the subtle color changes.
Bosco's fleece has the best of booth breeds. She has the soft, open wavy lock of the Lincoln and the variegation in her fleece of the CVM. She is a medium gray heather that is close in coloration to Alfalfa's fleece. I often combine these two fleeces if I want a additional depth and dimension to my yarn.
Chance's fleece closely echoes Blossom's coloration. Chance was a bucket lamb and is another wether in my flock. He's very personable and has a fleece that is special in color and hand. He again exhibits traits of both the Lincoln and CVM breed.
Alfalfa's beautiful heathered medium gray wool is characterized by soft, wavy locks with lots of luster. Alfalfa is one of the wethers in my flock and his sole focus is growing gorgeous wool.
Black Angel's charcoal heather fleece is soft and so easy to spin. No blending is required to have this ewe's fleece have depth and interest. Black Angel has done all that work for you.
Anise's black wool has a hint of dark chocolate to it. This exceptionally fine, soft fleece is the darkest of my flock.
Aran is my favorite white ewe. She is Alfalfa's twin and her fleece exhibits the same soft, wavy locks. If you're looking for a lustrous, white fleece Aran's may be for you.

Anona's white fleece is wonderful for dyeing either in lock or spun form. This fleece is very white when cleaned and carded with no yellow cast.

Lizzie's white fleece has a soft, tighter crimp than the other white fleeces from my flock. She is my oldest ewe and has consistently produced wool that proves great for white or beautiful dyed yarns. The photo at the top of the page is of Lizzie being sheared. She's a pro at shearing and always says, "Let's just get this done!"
